I have a lot of internal windows to clean at varying heights do you just wet pad with detergent or pure water as I wouldn't be able to spray glass with bottle due to being too high up?

Just wet the pad. You might get away with pure water but without the slip that washing up liquid offers, you might find it hard to do.

Hey wagga! :p and steve use washing up liquid, don't use pure water unless you are using water fed with a brush, it will only cause problems otherwise.
