I need a quality 6" scraper and like the look of the Sorbo as it pivots to adjust the blade angle. Comes with a pouch. Anyone use the latest model ? I see Karl that you like the Triumph ZX80, would you consider this better than the Sorbo? You are not allowed to view links.

it does not pivot .. i have the pivoted one.... i guess this for pole work ?? the reason i said about the blue one s that it is fixed and this will create more secure and better strokes when scraping... get the pivot ..its the same really. i just feel that with it fixed it will operate more securely and better..

Cheers I was hoping that the pivoting one could be screwed up tightly to keep it rigid.

it can be screwed up tightly. but mine has kind of siezed up at a slight angle..
this is a great scraper. it easy to change blades. just make sure it goes into the holder when your not using it. use triumph 6 " blades on it. 25 for 12 pound i think from WCW ( window cleaning warehouse) its works so well because more blade is hanging out and it molds to the shape of the glass surface . it flows when its scraping hold it like a table tennis player " pen style " go to You tube and see Sörbo scraper.

Thanks again for your advise. I will be using it on a pole at times so the pivoting model might be best. As it will not be used a lot I was thinking stainless blades.

The angled triumph has saved my bacon on a few jobs, it's really for difficult to reach windows, but not available in the UK. I hate covers, they are too time consuming so the ZX80 works best for me. Never tried the Sörbo scraper - can't comment. When I enquired about it, something put me off, can't remember if it was the weight, the blades or something else

the one main reason the sörbo IMO is the best is because of its scraping performance..... if i want a scraper for the odd scrape here and there i would choose the 4 " unger retracht... for example
but if i was a on a builders clean or had to do 2 or more windows i would use the Sörbo . the sörbo is really good because you have less ( none---- none meaning you feel totally safe with it )chance of scratching the glass and feels really good when scraping. it feels and does a great job.......if you scrape a lot get the sörbo. its that simple.

I dont scrape a lot but have often cleaned windows on houses that need all the windows scraped. I think it is about time I marketed this.

How the blades different to Triumph blades? As far as I'm aware they are made by the same company - JBF

Mr sörbo himself said that all or most 6 " blades will fit in the sörbo . so i bought triumph from WCW and yes they fitted and worked excellent. only problem is they Triumph claim they are stainless steel.. but if you get them moist damp wet they do rust so keep them in a dry place

Yeah, I know what you mean by the blades going rusty - even the stainless, but not so much. Sörbo blades are JBF blades as far as I am aware - so I think the choice is the handle. I think the Sorbo blade guide channel is metal so probably more chance of rusting. Triumph holders all rigid plastic.

ive had the sörbo roughly 2 years now. no rust on the channel holder karlos... the unique thing about the sörbo is the stability of it and the design of the way the blade sits in holding channel.. the blade is sticking out 2-3 times more than any other scraper and this allows the blade to mold to the glass and one feels very safe when scraping with it . it is highly efficient and i have used it many many times and cant speak highly enough about this scraper.
just like yourself . if your in window cleaning or any job for the long run and want to be efficient you have to fork money out to test equipment... because hearing seeing and doing are all different things.. the triumph definitely has its advantages and so has the Sörbo .. it would be wise probably to buy both.... it all depends how often you scrape.. i would rather lose 15 quid testing a tool rather than losing 300 scraper hours using the wrong scraper over the next 5 - 10 years or any tool for that matter

Might have to give it a go then! It's just the scraper cover...

sörbo has his own holder... the inside where the sharp side of the blade sits is made out of brass. ( or similar metal i think its brass )... so in effect its much safer than a plastic holder !!.
