Seen a marked increase in slow payers this year,especially online payments,as i have not got a vast turnover wondering if there was a magic hurry up method to get these back on track probably 15% of my customers who wait 3/4 weeks to sort payment  or is it a further sign of the times |

yes a lot seem to wait until they are due to be cleaned again before they pay, so if they are stand alone jobs I wait a while before cleaning them, quicker they pay the more regular I am. I just put up with it on compact work but I normally collect on this type anyway.

Not to worry when these mobile wallets come into play over the nxt cpl of years collecting is gonna get very easy for us domestic windies,send em a txt saying they been cleaned and they reply along with payment simples.  |

Not to worry when these mobile wallets come into play over the nxt cpl of years collecting is gonna get very easy for us domestic windies,send em a txt saying they been cleaned and they reply along with payment simples. i wish cos i hate going out at 5:30 till 7:30 4 nites a week to get ma cash |

Getting worse  after my hols i am going to write to the slow payers,they always pay but some go 3 or 4 cleans,not gonna put up with this going forward any ideas on what i should include without offending.....or should i offend/embarras |

If you can receive payments via PayPal then you can send out an invoice and invoice reminders to customers. It's helped me give some late payers a nudge ....

im strichtly cash............ neva had to camp outside anybodys door yet but a few have been close
sometimes there more hassel than thier worth to muck about with........... so dont do em

The other prob like today is ......are you sure i owe for 3  ?.....then it has got a bit tasty on a couple of occassions ........dont do them now! but i needed that custom which is why i am trying to get a solution which dont mean going out collecting ...bloody demoralising going back and having to chat chat chat when is all you want is ya tea............ |

ive been getting it bad lately ex good payers became slow payers and then just didnt pay and got some1 else to do it as he done them a deal on there windows and there bin i have lost a lot of work latley also to repocessed houses and people losing jobs etc i dread the winter by now i have usually saved enough to get me over the freeze it it stops me for a bit but this year ive nothing and didnt even get on hols not good at all
(seems like theres no loyality in customers anymore as window leaflets goin threw doors here every other day they have popped out of the wood work)

anybody who is not in on the day that i call to collect ,im now leaving them a slip ,to ask them to post me the money. i still collect but only knock the door 1 time.

thats the first bit of negative comment i have seen on here. do you think its a sign of the times, what with the resession and everything. Is anyone else struggling

We all lose customers and the more you have the more you will lose but normally you will gain as many or more than you lose. I have seen a lot of customers made redundant a lot move house and some die this year but fortunately I have still done well this year picking up more commercial than ever and doing first cleans (domestic) every day and have been most days since spring.  There is plenty of work out there for us still |

I have noticed an increase with non payers too, but half of it is my fault in not going back and leaving it to double up..Have to be more diligent in going back....Not fair on customers double trebling up.  |

the trick is to get ahead of your self money wise.9 times out of 10 i get more money in than i earn over the course of a month yet im still owed a fair few hundred pound at anyone time.
cheques through leaving SAE come dropping on my doormat most days,online payments also and collecting once or twice a week for an hour at a time keeps the cashflow good.august it usually slows down a bit due to holidays but i get my money in the end and usually its a bumper september for cashflow!
we all have our fair share of late payers but i dont clean more than twice without getting paid these days then the customers not shocked when you finally catch them in!
when your out cleaning knock their door when you ve finished and try and get paid there and then if possible or get a cheque off them.
