In Ireland there are no H&S rules covering rope access work (Yet!). Just grab your ropes and go to work.

NEVER attempt this kind of work without proper equipment and training,...  ALWAYS use a safety line,... and its always good practice to work in pairs,.. just in case!

Yeah i found the same.  I'd love to get into that.  I couldnt figure out though how id get the experiance without having to give up my buisness to go and work for a company again, just to get supervision whilst "they show me the ropes" (Ha, Ha, Ha.... - im gonna shut up!)

If you hear anything send me a mesage.
Cheers M8

Normally we only hang the ones that think we talk funny and even then only after copious amounts of the black stuff Wink
Dano, if you can afford a few months off then come to the states and get a job with any window cleaning company that does Hi-Rise
All the training is done in house and after a few months you should be more than proficient at using ropes for window cleaning
Bear in mind that there is no certification here and your training would only be in window cleaning ( theres a lot more to rope access than just abseiling) and you would still need to have a knowledgeable partner to work with but you would have the technical know how and after you've worked from 4-500 ft then everything else seems like being on the ground

Bones I dont have enough information about rope access over there to disagree with you but I have heard the opinion that a cert is not necessary

You should start a training course when you get back this side of the pond Pat,... This could be a hugely overlooked sector of the window cleaning business here!
