Hello Lads, do any of you use self addressed envelopes for payment or even paypal or do you have a facility where people can pay with their debit or credit card online ? Ive always just collected my cash but thinking of getting a website next year and letting people pay me with all of the above and maybe even pay by text message if thats possible ?

hey, I mainly use self-adressed envelopes, and in my case I a stamp on them too.  The customers seem to like it and it means im not waiting around long for my money.  I have one or too who pay via online banking.  I like the paypal idea Smiley

I invoice most of my customers that are not in (I do still have some rounds to collect) on the invoice are 3 payment methods

1 - Cheque in the post
2 - paypal
3 - bank transfer

all details are provided for them on the invoice so its up to them.

All I ask of them is they use their address and invoice date as a referance.

There is a cost involved with all 3 methods when it comes to paying into the bank and all are pretty similar but the cost is more than outweighed by the saving in collecting time/fuel.

Next year any that wont pay unless I knock on the door will have to find someone else to knock on their door cause I wont be.

On our invoices we offer payments by

Cheque

Direct Bank Transfer

Paypal, (which is electronic invoice meaning they can pay with a credit, debit card or by their paypal account).

Customers really seem to like the non cheque options.

I use Paypal mainly - customers like paying through the website as they don't have to keep cash at hand.  You can send invoices via Paypal as well.
