right my honest opinion on ecover, it is good as a trad detergent, nothing spectacular but good enough, you still have to use the tools right whether the windows remain clean for longer I will see

and I changed my water tonight Grin

Stu get that vinegar in it Wink you will notice the reason why in the long run!

the only  problem is if  the Plant based  washing up liquid  goes  viral.. the competition will be  getting hold of  it and that  could come back  shoot  us  in the foot...... personally i would keep hush about it and not let the other firms in your area  on catch on about it .

I agree, although I am not at all convinced it is the magical "solution" I definately will not be sharing it with the opposition.

ive just stated on the other forum  that this is james  from scotlands  find and  any  body  who profits  from this  . will have  to at least   give a kick back  to  James.. some might say that  is  not possible..  but logic  says  it is   because  its fair !   and ime serious about that !  because i  do see it kicking off  !   things like this really  wee  me  off when they profit off the backs  of others.......  but if  it coms  to the crunch..  i will be with james  because  he  really does  deserve  something.....

this is  special   basically because because  with out his soap what is a window cleaner....this soap works  with all squeegees.. sörbos  in heated  rooms  . (  could never do that before  to all windows due too much rubber burn and  too much residue  in the other  solutions on sale ).....

its is special and  one of the best finds in recent history  for trad window  cleaners.....  period

Grin how many as a % do you think other window cleaners actually read these forums, out of the dozens that I know only a couple read the forums. I spoke to a lad that was using a ro system the other day, he didn't know he could di only, never heard of a wagtail, never heard of gardiners poles.

no harm in sharing a bit about detergents

Some good information on there.  I expect most peoples attention will be drawn to the 'no residue' sentance.  too be honest it's nice to see that in writing, as you can confidently quote that to customers if need be

Quote
'no residue'

Thats why i started to use it, and was using it before i started to convert over to wfp! so there was none of this it can take 2/3 cleans to get rid of the old soap residue because there was no residue to remove!
So for me it was a easy change over.

I read it as "No residue of UNNECESSARY CHEMICALS"

Actually, on the.... You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login   website, Ecover have got a little advert for  Truck-Wash for Fascias, Conservatories, Roofs, Gutters etc. down the left hand side. I think its the same company so they seem to have a little to do with our 'industry' anyway.

yes I know jimmy, the ecover truck wash has been used for years, an ex member on here has used it for years mixed with GG3, it isn't anything new really, the only difference is the truck wash isn't readily available to be bought over the counter and has to be ordered, but the washing up liquid can be bought locally so it is easier to try.

I have looked at the ingredients of ecover washing up liquid and the ecover general detergent and there is hardly any difference between them, so I would imagine the truck wash will be pretty similar

i dont  know if this  is correct.. but if  you test all your green window cleaning washing up liquid on a mirror  you will see  when it drys  which one has left the most streaks and smears.. ive tried  5  here in germany  now and  ecover has left the least of all of them.....  tried  sonat  a  german eco washing up liquid  its left  streaks .... the ecover is the most  invisible up till now..  does a heck of a job on windows in direct sunlight   !

I have given this a week. I originally did a similar test between Fairy and W5. The W5 left a lot less than Fairy so I started to use it with good results. I did a test with Ecover and found it even better but it still leaves some residue. I think it is the best yet and will be using it from now on.
One minor point which is relevent though is this: I have had some trouble with my fingers starting to peel, perhaps due to exessive use of ordinary washing up liq, so with Ecover being very natural, I hope that it will be better for me. Too early to tell yet.

Its  much better wagga  than all the other  washing up liquids  regarding your hands .. but  you might find  your  hands  will crack slightly   maybe ..  (this might be  due  to the 2  drops of clear salad  vinegar i put in my  bottle though ).. but ive  used it  2  weeks  now and only  have  one small crack on my  left hand     which is a common  thing when using dish wash  soap   ( dries  your skin up ) . bearing in mind  i do a hell of a lot of  frame  cleaning...   if  you cream  your hands once a night  you should be  well ok.. i  dont normally cream    dont like to put synthetic   creams and lotions on my hands /  body  because it gets  drawn  into your  system . but when i see cracks appearing i have  to  other wise its a real pain  working with  a  crack on your hand.. just dont like wearing rubber gloves, as  do 80 % of all window cleaners

Maybe the  use of pure water  ( solution bottle    and  rinsing the washer  out  which has the pure water on it )   has role in the damage  done  ( if any ) on the hands  also ??
but in general  much much better than those  household  washing up liquids ..  hope fully  with 0 Petro -chemicals
