This is the mix i have been experimenting with over the last few months!
And he presto! best mix i have ever used!

ecover washing up liquid because it leaves no residue and vinegar seems to help with better cleaning,

tried ecover on its own and was alright but not perfect, so added some vinegar and what a difference,

Results!

went round with the ecover/vinegar mix fist time was ok 2/3rd cleans were far better and made life so much easier, windows stay cleaner much longer as ecover leaves no residue behind so stay clean and on a par with wfp cleaning!

I wfp tops and trad bottoms and both stay clean the same length of time!

This last week or two has been heavy rain and battering winds and windows were filthy, using the above mix on the windows they cleaned up so easy, where as before sometimes i would have to go over some windows twice as normal cleaning liquid would leave marks! not anymore,

the reason is the dirt is only sitting on the glass because there is no residue left behind for it to stick to, where as before it just in ground itself to the glass,

With this mix it has other benefits the water in your bucket stays clean all day long, where as before if you was cleaning heavy soiled windows you bucket water was filthy in no time and were having to change it on a regular basis not anymore your bucket water will stay clear all day long as any dirt you put into the water sinks to the bottom of the bucket,

It leaves a very good long lasting shine on the windows as well,

Customers have commented that they have noticed the difference in the length of time the windows are staying clean,

Because of this it has made me much quicker on my round as the windows are so much easier to clean! a bit like wfp where the windows do still look clean after 6 weeks or so this ecover/vinegar mix is as good as wfp cleaning guaranteed!

The mix is 2 sec long squirt of ecover washing up liquid into half a bucket of water

Asda sell a 568ml bottle of white vinegar which sells for around 40p you will need to add a 1/4 of this bottle into the bucket and that is it,

Believe me i have tried all sorts of cleaning liquids fairy etc and and this is by far the best mix i have ever used,

no smears drag lines nothing, it may take you a day or two to get used to it but trust me stick with it , i did not think much of the ecover when i first started using it, that could be because i was using this mix on windows that had been cleaned with a fairy mixture but as i say it could take 2/3 cleans to rid of all the old mixture from the glass then it becomes so easy!

For me using wfp and this trad mix makes for such a easy day!

I have been using this mix in my washer bottle in my car and is far better than any screen wash that i have used,

i cleaned my windscreen and back window on my car to test it against the elements and windscreen stays cleaner for much longer than using screen wash,

Usually driving behind cars in the driving rain will leave your screen with dirt around the area where your wipers dont clean, well using this mix to clean the screen the rain water just washes this dirt away and that area around the screen is all clear again even back window stays clean!

I wanted to test the mix to see how it would stand up to the elements of winter and could not think of a better way to do this than to try it on the car.

Hi James, can`t get hold of any Ecover.but tried it with my dish soap
I use. There is a strong smell with it to start with.I stuck with your
Recommended dilution rate. The smell did go away after a time from
My vehicle.Have you ever tried Isopropanol in your `mix`? Personally
I get a better  shine on mine with `Iso`.
Don`t like the idea of the seals rotting,it does seem to be `potent`stuff.
The `jury`s out`on this for myself, might be wrong.
I`m looking for good `rubber glide`mainly.

Lewis i have tried it with other dish soaps, fairy, monring fresh ect: it does not work as well as with ecover! as all the others leave a film of residue behind, ecover doesnt, goes against what i was looking for,

I did not get a great shine to start with but soon as i got rid of the old soap residue then you begin to see the benefits! good shine, clean longer, easy to clean, keeps bucket water cleans as you work!

Now as for it rotting seals? there is mixed veiws on this?

All washing up liquids contain acid of some sort in them have you seen any rotting rubber/seals in the years you been cleaning windows? if you did it would take years for it to show up!

adding vinegar to the liquid would also take years to show up if it does damage rubber/seals!
oldies used a 1/2 cup vinegar for years through her final rinse in their washing machines and it took years for any damage if any showed up!

Took this of the internet make your own mind up!

Quote
Full strength vinegar should be avoided for seals made from polyacrylate, fluorosilicone, Buna-N and neoprene because vinegar may weaken them with long-term use and cause eventual failure.

Solution

In most instances, diluted vinegar is safe for rubber seals because the effects of the acid are weakened.

Ok for anyone trying this mix if you dont like the smell of vinegar, although this only lasts for a few seconds!

Try adding a few drops of lavender oil into this mix this gives off a fresh lavender smell from your bucket!

OR Tea Tree oil

you might find the vinegar will eat into your skin after a certain while .In Germany they use  The equivalent   called  Essig.. which white and clear and  has  not such a  strong smell as  brown Vinegar...  a few  drops  should   do the trick. a quarter of a bottle for  me  would be  too expensive . because i change my water about 20 times a day

I find the water gets dirty because the dirt transfers from the applicator which means the applicator is removing the dirt from the windows.
If my bucket water stayed clean I would be concerned..
