This forum is set up for the good of all window cleaners, water fed pole users, manufacturers, and suppliers. Could all suppliers please fill out their company names and website details in the members profile section, and also use the signature function to add your signature and business name to all posts. It is essential that people know if they are talking to a supplier or a window cleaner, especially if they are in the market to buy some equipment.
Could all members please update their profile with company name and location please as this will also give us an idea of who we are taking to. There is no need for this information to be in you signature just your profile.
If you would like to have a link to your website posted on the links page then I would require a link back to the forum from your home page, this way users can make their way back to the forum once they have viewed your products. If interested send me a link to your website that will have the link back to the forum on it. You can also if you wish use your company logo. The links page to the suppliers website will be up in the next couple of days. This is for suppliers and manufacturers only, all other members can have a link to their websites in their profile.
I would also like to add that any information you would like to see on the FAQ page can be sent to me for posting.
You can also advertise any second hand systems or equipment you have for immediate purchase on the second hand pole systems page. This page can be used by individuals or suppliers who have second hand equipment or systems ready for immediate dispatch only, the equipment must be second hand, don't use this page for promoting new equipment, or building equipment to the buyers specification.
All I ask of manufactures and suppliers is to keep things professional. No bad mouthing competitors, their products. If someone asks a question about your particular product or a product in general then feel free to answer.
All I ask of all members is also to act in a professional manner, don't say to anyone something you wouldn't like said to you. Someone might come out with some statement you find hard to believe, but it could just be true. If someone post something that is deemed unprofessional they will be warned about it, the second time it happens they will be removed. Bad language goes without saying, everyone knows what is acceptable and what isn't, just use a little common sense.
I am in the process of working on a set of rules to keep the forum running in a smooth professional manner.
This will be a free advertising site which people in the market for a water fed pole will come to find out information, and if they want will have access to your site and others.
If you can't follow the rules then don't play the game, unprofessional conduct will be dealt with firstly by a warning message, then if it happens again removal. People using this forum don't want to see arguing and bickering among members, this can lead to a reduction in membership, which dually effects quality of post, and less usage of the forum.
If anyone has any questions about any of the above please contact me at any time to discuss.
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing the updated profiles in the near future.

pete can we have a general section added to the board to keep non window cleaning chat out of the w/c sections..i know the board is for w/c matters but a bit of banter with fellow forumers does liven the place up a bit.

been saying it for ages...even left other fora because of it....after all, sometimes when the job is done...all you want to do is kick back and have a laugh....I don't necessarily want to always live and breathe work...jeez....more to life than that...

Sounds good. some people get around the censoring by putting a star instead of the letter therefore writing a swear word on the forum. seems a bit of a mockery to me. Any chance of dealing with that? just a suggestion
Thanks for providing a very useful forum

Hi Peter.
I have been using this forum now for a few months and found it very helpful and informative, however some comments on a certain subject I found quite offensive and racist, the subject in general is I'm not racist but ..... could you please view these comments as I'm sure there are some people using this subject as a platform to post racist comments.
I'm sure there are Aisian window cleaners in this country who if they seen such filth would be very offended leaving a nasty taste in the mouth and would then assume we are all racist which I am certainly not.
would welcome your comments on this.
Steve

Steve, it looks like this has already been dealt with by the other moderators. I don't condone racism in any shape or form, and will delete any racist remarks I see. I will take a proper read at the posts in due course, and delete anything inappropriate. Peter
