I clean the leaded windows on this big old house for an elderly couple. The house has ivy growing all around the outside. One day i turned up to clean and the old boy came out with a pair of hand held cutters, and asked if i would just trim the ivy back from the corners of a couple of the top windows at the rear of the property as it was starting to overhang the windows. "Yes, not a problem" i said. When i got round the back i could see that the ivy had grown at super speed and was covering most of the window panes. It must have taken me an extra half hour trimming away so i could get to the windows. Anyway, when i finished the job i knocked the door and as i handed the cutters back and before i could say anything. The old boy said " thanks for doing that, i have put an extra £1 ontop of what i normally pay you for doing the ivy". I did not have the heart to say anything, and thanked him for his generousity. They are regular customers and always pay straight away.

But as they say " it doesn't pay to cut corners" Grin Grin

Oh yeh! soak it and scrape it  Wink
