will do andy and the information is taken on board im cautious when it come to gas i know a couple of gas engineers so i'll seek advice one thats a friend of the familys

i know gas between 10 to 20 % to air is very dangerous but after the 20% mark then it becomes less explosive (this is what i been told by a gas fitter in scotland)

i got the right valves and i will put the fron on and i got an air and burn off defuser (the thing that sits on top lol)

Thanks for the day and no you're not too boring!! Some interesting stuff I learned. Mostly confirming my choices for equipment by using and seeing what you have yourself. I have chatted with Kempy about his RO system as you suggested and he has pointed me in the right direction.
have a good weekend. Andy

I have an LPG heater in my van, but I'm still going to 2nd what Andy is saying. Without proper ventilation these heaters can be deadly,.. thats why most new ones with electronic ignition will only run for 20 minutes at a time to stop fumes building up. I'm also not keen on heaters with pilot lights for the same reason. With electronic ignition, if the flame blows out the gas is cut off,... if your pilot blows out does the gas keep flowing?

Do you run the heater with the cover off? I'd strongly recommend putting the cover back on as it will reduce the chances of any of those delicate internal workings getting broken.

In my setup the heater is vented through the van roof. I also have an additional 3 mushroom vents in the roof and floor vents to make sure any fumes/gas leaks can escape.

I'd also say that having the heater so close to the van roof could mean the heat damages the paintwork over time,.. a flue and vent would fix this.

the top is about 1/2 a foot to a foot away from the roof i have fitted it to the instructions of the boilers keeping a firm distance away from things

yes i'll get the front on due to health and safety but the heater is only run during stopped with both doors open so i dont see cause for concern i'll look in to an angle to dirct the burn off tho just so things stay safe.

things are issuse but not big issuse i wouldnt use it if it wasnt safe and i do love research  Grin

any other ehlp would be appresiated Smiley

just a thought, would it help if you fitted the heater to the inside of the rear door.you would have to leave the door open when you when working, but it might work?
