I've been using a Brodex Pole and although it seems indestructible after a days work I feel like I've been swimming against the tide for hours. After reading a lot of comments on here regarding the Gardiner CLX lightweight poles I'm going to give them a try.As I have a few new Brodex brushes will they fit on a Gardiner pole ok or will I have to buy one of their own brushes with the pole? Thanks.

the clx is much lighter than the brodex pole but maybe not as indestructable but still a great pole if you give it some tlc with wiping pole clean with a cloth reguarly to stop dirt and grit wearing it. i use my clx with brodex brushes as I bought three of them 2 years ago and iam till using the first one and have another on another pole as gardiners brushes are very light and good but not for me

Thanks for that.I'll carry on using the Brodex brushes on the new pole when I get it as I've always been happy with their brushes.

If you want a really lightweight set up get Gardiners superlight extreme brush to go with the clx. It's the weight at the top of the pole that makes all the difference.Nothing beats it. Except slx superlightextreme brush combo.

It will kind of defeat the object of getting a lighter pole if you don't also get a lighter brush. That 250 grams or so extra on the end of the pole makes a big difference imo.So recomendation would be - CLX with xtreme brush or a super-lite. Wink

Brodex brushes are not good imho.

If anyone disagrees with me I've got some brand new unused ones for sale if interested.

I didn't realise the Gardiner brush was so much lighter than the other brands.I'll keep the Brodex stuff as spares. It does a great clean but I'm more worried about my polystyrene back giving up and missing a weeks work.I'll sort a Gardiner pole and brush out next week. Thanks for the replies.

another thing, since i've put a lighter brush on the end, it's given more life to the plaggy pipe i have on the end of my pole which connects the 2 parts, might not apply to all poles though Roll Eyes

just starting WFP so excuse the following question :

Q) I have purchased Peters Hotwash Trolley. It comes with a 32 ft Autobrush. Some of my work is 2nd floor domestic but most 1st floor. Shall i purchase a shorter brush too for eg 17ft or so. worried 32ft may be cumbersome or heavy to manouvere on lower windows?

Also can I just connect a Gardiners pole to Peters trolley or do I need to buy seperate fittings.

Hopefully most poles and systems are standard fit Huh? Help

hi kier, i assume you mean shorter pole Grin. well you can, and would recommend a lighter pole, but you can reduce an enormous amount of weight just by removing the bottom section, just undo the threads and slide it off and just put it on when you need to go 30ft. that's what i did for 2 years. just use it for high stuff and 1st cleans now, and as it's practically indestructible, it's a good back up, but definitely take that bottom section off, some take the 4th as well, but i find the top length to bendy

you can buy a clx27 from gardiners for about 180 inc vat, can't remember if they come shorter, have'nt got one but very popular, and i plan on getting one.
jeff brimble/electric sell a 21ft ninja pole for less than 100 quid think he still does them, i have one takes a bit of getting used to and it's essentially clampless so typically a faster pole and very light. i would reccomend it, i've come to love it, but can see how it would'nt suit everyone, but must be best pole for the price. the autobrush is good. there are times it is brill, there are occasions it's a bain, usually above connys etc when it can be tough to turn on, and accidentally turn of if you knock the sill while still washing.
not got clx but assume it's a threaded end, as the brushes are screw ons. not sure what piece you'd need, but there will be one try and find out what it is when you order pole and save p&p. don't know if you'll have any complications if you want the hose to go through the pole, may need 10 mtrs of pole hose, not sure, sorry Undecided

Thanks mate. I have ordered a Gardiners CLX 18 ft. Woman said it comes with all adaptors to fit 8mm minibore which is wot Trolley is. So will use that as my main pole and use Autobrush for longer reach if needed. Whilst doing Trad work I have been wiping top of window frames as hope this helps stop much of the dirtrunning down glass on first cleans. Can't believe the filth coming off of them ! Your a good fella Chip !

someone give that man a beer!
any dirt you get off frames now will help a bit, but still give them more attention 1st time or 2. you'll sometimes wonder where the dirt is coming from, grills in particular can be a mare but once clean you're fine if you go over them every few months to keep it like that. if you have'nt done any wfp yet, i recommend changing over progressively as you may find it slower at first than trad and maybe using gallons of water more than in a few months, depends on the size of your round. if you're anything like me you may have sleepless nights at times and wonder what you've done, stick with it, it gets better Grin

Hi Chip where did you get your ninja pole from? They look amazing but only place i can see them is by assassin poles for over $400. Anywhere else do them? Are they popular with many cleaners? Not seen anyone using them but im curious now.
