Hi everyone. Just discovered this Forum is working again. Cool. I was lost without it. Pretty new to WFP cleaning but getting there. What is Flush valve for Pn RO system and how does it work ? Think I heard it's to flush membranes and prolong life of them but not sure. How long and how often do I do this ? Help ! Thanks lads

The Flush Valve cleans  the membranes, therefore prelonging the life of them, i put mine to flush once a week for about 30 mins, you can also do then once a day for about 5 mins, seem to do the trick ok, just replaced my membranes on a 200gpd system, the old ones had lasted for 3 1/2 years....!

Thanks so much as was well confused. I produce about 350 to 500 litres of pure per week. Tops only. My TDS started at 000ppm now crept up to 005 ppm. Only had system for a month. Will it just need a resi n change to bring it back to 000ppm. It won't be the Pre filters already will it ? How often do I need to change filters and membranes roughly ?

Also Ihave a 200 gpd RO system with 10" housing. Can I use any 10" filters and membranes as long as they are sediment block and Carbon Block ? Does resin change colour when needs changing ? Sorry for so many questions !!!

don't worry about pre filters for at least 3 months, i do them about every 6. i think ionics did a colour changing resin but don't think anything visibly obvious happens with tulsion- go off your tds. pre filters only cost about 13 quid, just get them from peter.

Like i said in previous post, give it a good flush for 30 mins, this should bring your tds down, filters changed every 6 - 8 months, resin about every 5 -6 months, i produce 600 litres per week, never had any problems.
