I'm sure this is nothing to worry about, but i just wanted some opinions.
I have a 5 stage system , only 3mths old,or so.My tap water is 348, it used to go into the DI at 008 and then was 000 Cheesy Cheesy.
I have just changed the pre filters;and put a granular carbon filter in ,instead off the carbon block filter that was in the system.
Tap water still around 348 , into the DI now 012  Huh?,why is this and does it matter as i'm still getting 000.However it is 000 for 2-3 weeks then over a couple of days goes upto 005, instead of a gradual increase that it used to be.

Opions guys please, Wink

Do you use a booster pump ? RO can work very different temperature wise too water is more dense when cold Mine comes out around 45 into di goes in anywhere from 300-500 hard water area.

Have you flushed membranes regular ? 5-10 mins before use is fine some say longer I always disconnect the di when doing this as you can still get a slight trickle after flush I wait 2 mins then test whats coming out before reconnecting di also make sure flush tap is fully turned off too.

Even if I dont flush (cos Iv had it on that day already) I run system for a few mins & test TDS to remove any built up deposits before connecting & contaminating di.

at the end of the day, it's a fivers worth of resin at stake, if you find it's affecting your amount you've lost a fraction of that. if it was a membrane related issue i'd take it more seriously, but for threpence, not worth messing about disconnecting hoses

take note of the ro readings now, 8,12 or whatever it is and remember it. as they wear that reading will go up, and when you're not happy with how much water you get from resin, time to change! e.g mines now hovering round 30 and only get about 6 or 700 at 0 di so ready to change but will wait till winters gone. will have lasted 3 yrs though , and did'nt flush enough for first 18 months (hardly ever) and they were bad could'nt get to 0 changing resin within a day. sent them to peter and he did whatever he does which i think amounts to hitting them with 100 psi and they came back about as they are now, so with care could last quite a long time i think Smiley
