Internet banking has worked okay for me. I put this through the door and follow up with an email saying something similar. Most pay within 7 days. Never collect as they will expect it.

I've started collecting 1 night a week again.People are just not bothering their back-sides to send the chqs.It was starting to get silly, and it was getting to the stage where i could be anything upto 2 maybe 3 hundred quid a month out.It doesn't take long to build up,and it's me that gets it in the neck from the custie cos he/she owes 2 or 3 cleans, and it clearly states on the cards "PLEASE SEND A CHEQUE" with 2 contact phone numbers  Roll Eyes I noticed a massive differance in the takings in the last 2wks Wink

Yeah,2.5hrs on a thu or fri is all it took to boost up the takings, although i do remember spending 2hrs collecting a couple of yrs ago and ended going home with £20 Grin atotal waste of an evening, but it was quite funny Grin

SAE and BACS for stand alone bigger accounts/commercial and customers who owe 2-3 cleans.collecting friday or monday 5-7.usually collect just once on a friday.sometimes monday if i want to get more in.

i have lots of compact estate work so easy to collect and within 6 miles.a mixture of all 3 is good for cashflow.cant see a time when i wont go collecting.

i would never disturb customers on a sunday evening.in fact i would go as far to say its a big no no in my opinion.

debt is part of running a business you can never get every penny in owed.

as for paypal i dont offer the option.sod getting extra charges on top of late payments!!! Grin Grin Grin

i recently opened a business account with Santander and there are no charges, not now not next year or the year after, never...
The only drawback is that you cannot go to the till and deposit money, it has to be paid into the cash machines..                        must say its no prob for me..

I have a few that do SAE and a few that send bank transfer .
Sometimes the bank transfer persons need a TEXT message to remind them .
It has reduced my collecting time , time for ME and the KIDS I feel .

I collect pyhsically now just 1x a week.
This week it was Saturday at 1500 to 1630 and its the best I have collected .
Sad i know but I was with the kids from 0730 until 1430 , so It was good to get out and have a gentle walk/drive out .

I never collect more than 1x a week , umless im skint .

A custie wee#s me off when they are just going out and say call back tomorrow , F#ck that , why should I waste say 20/30 mins travel etc just because they cant find the money that would of taken them 2 mins .
there the worst , the ones who think you dont want the money straight away and have time to come collecting

The Future is
Bank Transfer details on a slip ,   obtain everyone's mobile number and remind them via text if not paid .

Will need a huge phonebook , but would be the most effective route to take I believe .

hi guys Grin
I do SAE for nearly all.... I used to collect, but it just eats away at time that should be spent with family..
most of my custies send the payment within ten days...
I have 2 days that are local and I collect these...these are ion my doorstep literally!
if people dont send then I dont clean...or I clean and collect if I know I am passing...
I am fortunate that my round is bursting at the seems....
I do work a couple of hours on a saturday lately , and so I do the bad payers these mornings as they are mostly in...
as for the ones that just cannot grasp the rule of paying , I bin them and move on....
