i have always collected but i have a few online payments to the bank account i dont use my website for small amounts because paypal charge a bit so i only use them for £40 plus and then i add on a £5 for paypal charges anyway
1 has online banking payments not worked for you. 2 has the bank warned you about to many payments going into current account. 3 at the end of the month or round cycle are you still chasing the non payers because they havent downloaded the money.
i know collecting will never stop completely on my round but any info will help

i don't do the online thing, not yet anyway, but do you lose much more than you do in diesel, and is it not worth a bit of expense to have another 2 or 3 hours a week to yourself?

I don't add a charge on as I am saving fuel and time, I also offer direct internet banking as this is free and I let them know that is the preferable method.

if it comes to it mike play hardball and say you'll close the account if they give you aggro, failing that have 3 or 4 different accounts, it's hardly money laundering

Open a business account with Santander as its only £5 per month if less than £1k put through. Use the account ONLY for customers to pay by bank transfer and then ONLY transfer money from that account to another account every few days or once a week. This means you can easily keep an eye on customers paying and fully account the money transfered to your personal account and incur no extra charges like you get from paypal.
Regards Mr H

i have been using PayPal fro 2 years now, im the same as Stu, dont charge as im saving on fuel and time, it worked really well to be fair, having said that id like not to pay PayPal of course but there you go.
i do have a few custies that pay via bank transfer, id like this to be the main payment method for all my custie but the fact that it shows up in my account as "faster payment" i have no record of knowing who has paid

I currently accept payments via Paypal or direct fund transfer to my account. Many customers still send cheques.
But,
Some can't be arsed and it winds me up!
I don't wanna drop people but I have considered it.
Also of late I have considered returning to unpaid jobs at the end of the day and trying to collect. I tried it last week and collected over half that was owing.
So the question is,
Do you guys who collect put your bill through the door at the time of clean, or do you wait until you have returned and tried to collect but still there is no one home?
