Hi all,
       Just had a call from a primary school wanting me to clean the windows asap. Just wondered about getting a CRB check, they haven't asked but i'm pretty sure that i would need one working on a school property? I have just had a look on the Gov CRB website and they can take up to 8 weeks to get them done, and i can't apply for it myself as the school have to do it  . If i was to clean the windows on a weekend when the school was closed and unoccupied, would this be ok until i have the CRB check back. Or do i need to get one at all if i'm doing outsides only when they are closed and nobody is about?
I have been meaning to get this done and a CSCS card for ages, but work coming in has kept me busy and never seen any rush to get it sorted out. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

You do NOT need to be CRB checked to work on school premises as you are NOT employed directly by the school and you are not working with the children. Some schools may ask for it but t is the school that would have to pay for it to be done as you can not CRB check yourself as it can only be done by an employer or business..!

Tazgers, do you clean the school in school hours when occupied with children & Staff?

I went out and quoted the school today, they did not even mention a crb check and are happy for me to do the job when the school is closed. "Result", thanks for all the replies guys.
