Would pure water clean my car like it does windows and not leave water spots? elimating a leather? Cheesy

Well I use DI'd water to clean my van and it looks great. Ages ago there was something on CleaningPros about not using it but I've found no problems.

I even used it as a selling point to a punter who thought the brush would ruin their frames - "Scratch your paint? I use that same brush on my van!"

I put it in ma whiskey, but find it leaves spotting on the toilet floor when I pi sh it back oot. Huh?
