Hi guys, i know this question may seem to be in the wrong forum but here goes anyway. I'm not the brightest when it comes to electrics so i thought i would tap your brains.
If i had a 3 phase 415v water pump, is there any way i can change it to a 230v and use it on a standard houseold socket? Someone said that i could take the line to the neutral which s the 230v single phase and one of the other phases? I don't understand really, any help please asap. Thanks...  Huh?

Never heard of that.  The best way is to buy an inverter which when pluged in will change the 240v into 415v. but ask for advise and get the correct one.

lol it will never happen on a house hold socket, you'd need a transformer connected to the grid to give off a two phase supply that will give you 415v.

so in layman term's this mean you got two supplies coming in to your house at two differnt phase to each other, thus the peak value of the supple (the solenoidal wave is never negative) is at a constant level (kinda like a Dc voltage)

hope this helps but the pump is an industrial pump and wont be good, it might work but not worth it the drain on the pump will also be to great for you house and its cost an arm and leg just to run
