Looking for a new van as mine has £600 worth of repairs needing done plus tax due.

Wanted a transit connect, but I dropped by a garage that sells just vans on way home today to see what they had in & they said they didn't touch connects as they have problems with the turbo & injectors.

They did have a berlingo in, 1.9d. Looked very tidy, but might be a tad small.

Anyone else got/had either of these vans, and have any opinion? Heard anything about turbo problems on the connect?

Advice appreciated.

got a berlingo, about 12 yrs old now 100,000 miles. had it nearly 3 yrs never had any probs, only general wear and tear. payload about 600, think you can get 800, anyway would be confident to put 400 ltr tank in if i went van mount.
i think these days, if you stick to the basics in a vehicle you could go to the moon in them, it's when you mess about with fancy gizmos and the computer stuff that you ask for trouble

Thanks for responses guys.

Both make good points, but that's my problem! Ha. Just can't decide what to go for.

Seen a vw caddy aswell now SDI engine. Just to add another van to the already confused mix.

I did want a connect, but few comments from people about the turbos/injectors have put me off. So then I think 'keep it simple with a 1.9d berlingo'. But then not sure if big enough & would I regret not having room for all my gear.

And then I think about paying the £600 to get current van fixed! Ahhhh! Doing my head in.

Get yourself a Transit mate , mine has been really good , basic but turn the key and it goes .
My mate got a vivaro and he wished he got a transit now as his had problems .
Another got a vito and said its thirsty and expensive parts .

personally 1.Transit
2.VW Transporter - quality , but alot of money .
3.Toyota Hiacce - good quality

but transit for re-sale , and value for money .
