hi, at some point this year i plan to buy my wife a tablet, maybe a smartphone, but i'll keep it to tablets for now. i've had a play with an ipad2 and it's pretty impressive, but ideally want to pay less, so would appreciate any thoughts and experiences you've had with androids or anything for that matter. also thinking of getting myself a really cheap one, mini gadget, seems to get good reviews for what it is. anyway, gratefull for any input.
by the way, one phone question, am i right in thinking, that the only thing a smartphone does that a tab does'nt is phoney type things ie talking, texting?

The amazon wildfire is supposed to be released soon it's had good reviews in America but not sure of the release date yet I was gonna get the mrs one for her 40th but ended up getting her the iPad 2 at an eye watering £400 . The wildfire is supposed to retail around £200 so it might be worth hanging on if you can
