To run the flat surface cleaner (Swirly thing) you'll need a powerwsher that puts out 13 litres a minute minimum (15 is better) and 4000 PSI,... expect to pay £850 odd for the washer alone.

Well worth the investment though, a good machine will allow you to work a lot faster, and you'll be able to do graffiti cleanup and chewing gum removal with it too.

I'd recommend Merrill Fox. Even with the shipping/import costs it's hard to beat his prices.

we used to do the odd patio while back, and used an old floor buffer powered from a generator in van. buffer had the bristle brush pads on it. brings them up a treat. i've used that swirly adapter thing on an industrial washer and it doesn't come close to a good brush scrub in my opinion. although the industrial washer was a fair beast i must say.

As for the preasure washer it does pay to buy a good quality one but also think about how often you are likely to use it at first. I started with a powerful secondhand Karcher (cost about £100) then as I got more money in I bought a more powerful one but still cheep and next year I will look at getting a better one again...

C.N.C.

Don't let it bother you mate, just be cool as I'm sure revenge is worth waiting for,  stay positive and I'm sure you will be picking that sort of work up,   I bought a large Karcher for £400 but you can get even better ones on ebay 2nd hand.   if you opt to buy a 2nd hand industrial steam cleaner make sure it has been recently serviced.

My advice C-N-C is to simply keep your head down, not let there plans effect you and offer a great service to match the pro looking firm/website you have got.

The guys made his first mistake by taking on someone, who you say is lazy. He'll find out the hard way and I'm sure there will be problems between the 2 of them. The lads have let you down, so don't feel bad when you're making a real success of things and they are coming cap in hand.

My point exactly, if what they are saying is true then it won't be long until a customer figures out what they are paying for- then the bad reputation starts.

I wouldn't let them bother you bud, with their attitude and approach they'll only balls it up for themselves.  Kepp your own standards high and your business will take care of itself. Smiley

I've had a look at some of the 9hp washers on ebay,... excellent prices for the machine you're getting. It might be an idea to start with one of these and work up to a big one with a flat surface cleaner when you've got the work coming in thick and fast.
Powerwashing is a great addon for any window cleaner,... so regardless what that fool has done to you, I'd say go for it, there's big money to be earned.

Just the basic machine and a 24' lance for the gutters is all you really need to start with.

can anyone please shed some light on what size is the longest Lance available for pressure washers ?  as cleaning faceboards and soffitts can use up a lot of pure water and when I did a large bungalow I pressure washed it in 15 mins and it came up a treat,   so would love to know if I could get say a 10-15 foot lance to do semi's

For normal poles you can go up to 24', but omnipole do powerpoles up to 48' that can be used with your powerwasher. I find the lance hard to control at 24' high, so I reckon any higher would be a 2 man job.
