I can see where you are coming from Kirky. One of the lads I got friendly with told me he worked a 18-20hr day for around £7. Its crazy to think, but it's true- these shop owners etc just want to impress you and get as much of your custom as possible.
We could learn an awful lot from their customer service- there's a few things I'm going to try to use with my customers.
Being houded at every door to go for a meal can be annoying, and it's strange to do, but I simply ignore them, no smile, no saying no thank you- I just walk on, you would be there all day if you were polite to them all.
An amazing country though, with real bargains.
