How did I do it,

lifting ladders, no.

Too long on the big pole, no

I bent down to put a peice of paper in the bin last night and felt somthing go in my back, but went up to bed, woke up at 5am and felt like someone had had hit my lower back with a sledge hammer, I cannot walk more than a few feet and have to lie on my front, can't even sit in a chair, cant really put any weight on my right foot.

Doctors tomorrow or maybe hospital tonight if I can get there.

I have no sickness cover so am now thinking about getting some, anyone know the best place to get cover that would include this sort of injury?

I hope this is not the start of years of bad back.

hi mate.

sounds like you need to see a chiropractor to click some bones back into place,    I'm 6ft-6 and I too suffer with my nine ten jack and my shoulder so I visit the Chiropractor every few months and treat myself to a well being massage at cannons gym and have lots of long hot soaks in the bath

hope your back on your feet and mobile very soon

Cheers guys, off to see one in the morning, rang round a few mates and they have recommended a good one, Tried the old trick of hanging from a branch (not by my neck!), this is supposed to let the body pull itself straight, then had a hot bath and have had a hot water bottle on my lower back all day + painkillers, but it is going to need a professional to look at it.

Just glad I was up to date with the round.

easy.....go to a gym that has an inversion table....(upside down)....or you can buy one for 100 quid from argos or similar.....spend 10mins per day on it and you will never ever have back probs again.....promise......my brother fell 65ft doing windows and broke most of his bones 15yr ago...then he suffered back problems(understandably)...but he now runs up and down ladders as if nothing were wrong with him due to the machine in his house...he is fitter than me now.......so the 1st sign of any probs then i am getting one.
