I use to make wine and spirits from kits....
Never got on well with making beer.
Will start doing it again if the government brings in minimum prices for alcohol....
When you think a decent 1Litre bottle of schnapps or vodka costs £15 but only costs about £20 to make 4Litres when made from a kit or even less if you let it ferment for longer and make more then add your own flavoring... ;-)

me and the wife make our own wine, very easy and very cheap you can buy all you need to set up at tescos now,but we find that the kits are cheaper on the net we use leyland homebrew site you can buy a 25litre 14 day kit for about 15quid we buy 4 at a time as you get free delivery over 50 quid ,the fermentation tubs are only about 9quid from tescos but you have to put a breather in the top as they are sealed only about 1.50 tho,we find the wine tastes as good as anything you can buy bottled, with your sugar it normally works out at 18quid for for 23 litres cos the bottom 2 litres are sediment,DO NOT DISTURB

I have been making wine for a few weeks now and it is working out at about 60 pence per bottle. As a tip I was given a nice Wolf Blass chardaney the other day and it tastes no different to my home made white which takes about 4 weeks to from start to finish... savin loads of cash

v.good , i reckon many people will be trying their own home brew soon the way the government is thinkin about raisiung prices , and thats just a start. I remember the way smokers were treat by the government..., terrible when many people were getting their fags from people importing illegaly and therefore the government were not gettingas much tax as they used to so they made them suffer by treating them like scum... smoking outside and then even not allowing them to be within walking distance of their work place while having a draw. The same will happen to drinkers I think.
