Cavity wall and loft insulation- your advice please

Hi guys,
Had a bloke call round today about the above. Been quoted approx £250 for cavity wall & loft insulation (we have a 2 bed mid-terraced).
Could anyone tell me:
-Is it worth it?
-Does it really make house warmer & save you a decent amount of money?
-We don't have double glazing- so would the heat just go out windows instead?
Just wondered if you lads had any experience of this and would recommend it or not?
Cheers!

its well worth it but if your rising heat cant get out into the roofspace you will lose some thru the old windows ,still think it would help you just buy some thick curtains and keep em closed all winter
might act as double glazing

we got cavity wall, and the loft is well insulated, getting windows done next year then we will feel the diference, we got wooden framed single glazing and we lose so much heat..
