ive still to do my own and having looked into it i wont be doing it for custys, firstly my insurance will not cover it, what if you break a roof tile or two, as agpm says leaking roofs etc, all to keep a oap happy could cost you if you dont do it right. there a reason roofing firms charge big money Wink

I've done a couple of jobs like this. For safety you need 2 people there all day, even though most of the time one is just standing watching (take turns up on the roof). Powerwashing a standard sized bungalow roof using roof ladders and a decent sized petrol washer takes me all day,.. and I charge €600 - €700 for the job. It's very hard work, it's wet, cold and miserable so I feel that price is more than justified,.. OAP or not!

its not easy work but if you could get the custies i would drop w/c for it any day ,as stu says insurance is a nightmare i,ve had to get inclusions to allow for this.what you also need to explain is that when you wash roof you can then see broken tiles that moss was covering.usually add £6 per tile depending on type.depending on job i usually take worker with me but often do them alone ,just tie ladders .dont worry about pricing gutters as youll have to clean them and the walls when youve finished.had a few b4 and after pics but comp fooked up ,didnt have back up disc.(have now) Wink

if she gets it done every yr youll do it no probs most i do havent been done 10-15 yrs or never.dont worry about breaking tiles ,itll happen no matter how careful you are ,just replace them add on to the bill  Wink .swrilly thing is a dirt blaster there the business but break easy went through 3 in 1 job Sad     you can buy petrol p/washers on net for £225 ish ,just need to addd a bigger hose for lance ,dont get 1 over 2500 psi unless you can vary the pressure ,any bigger youll break the tile with the force ,,

I've done a few roof cleans and rarely go on the roof at all now. Where possible we use an Ali tower and scrapers/hoes on poles but if you haven't got that kit, here are a couple of things to watch out for.

Some of the older double Roman tiles (a tile with two raised flutes running vertically) are made of clay. These can shatter under the weight of your size 12's and the jagged edges can rip the felt below. If this happens your looking at stripping at least 4ftx3ft of the roof tiles, battens and felt and patching with new felt..... Ouch!

If your using roof ladders be very careful not to bash them into the ridge tiles as it can brake the mortar joints and as the older type of felt was rarely wrapped over the ridge it will create leaks. This would be very expensive to repair.

So go steady up there matey and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine we are all enjoying  Roll Eyes

get on the roof with p/washer mate youll never do it right with scrapers on a pole Huh?.thats more like brushing the dirt off not giving it a clean .if the roofs in ok condition itll be fine.if its not it would need repaired anyways   Grin more money

Its amazing what you can achieve with a pole, I've heard you can even clean windows with them  Grin

But yeah, it is more for removing moss and the  dung on old roofs than jetting newish concrete tiles.
