Question:
What are the filters on my 4 stage system

Answer:

Stage 1, Sediment Filter, can be found on the right of your system, at the same end as your pressure gauge.  This filter deals with the larger particles in your water, and therefore protects your RO membranes from clogging.

Stage 2, Carbon Filter, can be found next to sediment filter in the middle of the three cartridges.  This filter removes harmful chlorine from your tap water, and also protects your RO membranes.

Stage 3, RO Membranes, these can be found above the three cartridges on top of the unit, you will have either two or three of these.  They purify the water to between 98% and 99%.

Stage 4, DI Filter, can be found on the left hand side of the three standing cartridges, this purifies the 98% pure water from the RO membranes to 100%.

The dual TDS meter measure the water quality coming from both the RO Membranes and the DI cartridge, the "IN" reading comes from the RO membranes and should read somewhere between 4 and 15, depending on tap water quality, the "OUT" reading should be zero, although anything below 10 will not spot on the glass.

The pressure gauge tells you what the incoming water pressure is.

Question:

When do the filters need changed

When the pressure gauge drops below normal then your first two stages need renewed.  This is the right hand side and middle cartridge.

Your RO membranes should last between two and three years, if your "IN" reading on your meter is higher than normal you change the membranes.

Your DI needs changed when your "OUT" reading is above 9
