may be a silly question but ive heard someone talk of dog earing their rubbers so to avoid having to detail edges of glass
is this true and how do you achieve it?

if you get the "dog earing" right, then it will reduce detailing enormously
I hardly have to detail at all now though to be honest Iv'e gone a step further and sawn a little into stainless channel a little at each end and then bent it inwards and upwards a little so that theres like a small finger actually pointing riight to the end corners of rubber thus forcing it to remain on glass even when window has the rubber inserts. My speed has now improved.
Ok its weaker and these tips could break off but so far so good. Channel is 10" at moment.
Will try to post pics.

Havn't had a problem at all. The metal doesn't come in contact with the glass at all. It just forces each tip of the rubber to remain on the glass even when theres the rubber/neoprene surround round the frame.
A pic would be good and I'm going to try to get somone to show me how to post one.
