converted to waterfed pole system, when using ladders and squeegee for standard barratt homes or wimpy homes i could clean 12 houses an hour if i worked like a dog, now i am cleaning 12-15 houses an hour with the pole. easy.wayhay.
anyone else got similar story.

hello there 97
i'm a long way from Glasgow but if i'm ever up there i'll come with my stopwatch and you can buy me a pint. cheers man!!lol
no way could i clean em that fast, seems a physical impossability to me. i must spend three minutes going up and ladders on a normal size semi.
i'd have to be 6' 6" with arms as long as an orangotang to get anywhere near that speed!!lol(just picturing it in my head swinging off the gutters with a squeegee in my hand. oo,oo,oo. lol.
later.

now thats the biggest load of poo ive ever heard  theres a company round here been going 17yrs and they do an awful job i have picked up loads of there work over the yrs

customer
"steve can you clean my windows"
steve
"yes i can it'll be £10"
customer
"thats fine i've just had so and so clean them on monday"
steve
"but there in a hell of a mess love"
customer
"well wot do u expect for £3.20 thats why we rather pay you a tenner to do em properly"

the moral of my story is if ur doing em cheap ppl aren't really arsed if ur doing a good job or not and thats how you can stay in the industry a long time me old china

I.E the price reflect the quality of the job

I used to clean two large detached houses with conservatories in 20 minutes, 10 minutes per house, each house had 8 windows, patio doors, and conservatory.  I didn't clean the conservatory roof.

I too used to gain work from window cleaners that did a terrible job, and I charged a good price.  My point is it takes as long if not longer to do a bad job than a good job.  An example of this is the window cleaner who dosn't take care of the edges with the squeegee because he knows he is going to go round with his dirty old cloth.

I have never seen windowcleaner97 work but believe what he says can be done in the time to a high standard.

thank you peter i agree, i also have increased my customer base from so called window cleaners out there who change the squeegee rubbers probably once a month( i change mine weekly from clow) maybe i have been too hasty in stating that i can do these houses so quickly and do a good job and put a few noses out of joint, on reflection those who take longer to do the same job arent as fit and dont put the same effort as me into looking after themselves and take this career as seriously as myself, however if they want too i can teach them the method of fast/speed window cleaning....my motto is..... whatever you do in life....be the best.

so if 5mins a house, that is about 30seconds a window - including putting the ladder up and down

suppose you randomly throw the ladder up, sometimes it falls and you have scars to show, and you leave streaks but people don't care because you charge less

why why why are people using this forum to say how many houses they can do, its gone from how many in a day to now how many in an hour. i look at it this way so what anyone can do in a day or hour every house is differant. the point is  wfp quicker and the answer is it can be like on small pains, leaded lights, large houses ect. but i still do a row of bungs trad because i found that it is quicker doing them trad but thats me.

12 in an hour well yes maybe poss if all in a row and no traveling time or set up involved and not first cleans and the windows are the good ones to do but remember all you douters dont look at your round and compare what others are doing because you may not have that sort of round, but look at some you may do and have said to yourself i wish i had the whole estate ill be done in a couple hours Smiley   on speed mode. i have a round by me and it takes longer to collect the money than it does to clean them.

if you dont belive people on what they can do then dont anwser back i say.

i agree, i shouldnt have started this whole crazy thing.
yes i can do 12 houses an hour, but i am fortunate enough to have house after house with no breaks or walking for ages in between.and the windows are straight forward enough to do with applicator and squeegee alone, no hoppers etc. and no i dont cut corners either (make sure your rubbers are correct and you have no probs) and regarding speed mode, means i used to run up the ladders do the work with both hands( applicate the right window and squeegee off while applicating the left and run down do the top half of the bottom window as i come down. all this took about 20 -30 seconds per window. i can still do it but prefer the wfp.but i will not be posting any more i can do it better and faster than you jibes.lol

one more thing...i charge just as much as you would/probably more...no one charges 3.20 a house these days.......cheapest house that takes 5 mins is 4.50.
i pay tax national insurance, liability insurances etc etc etc. just the same as you but a wee bit quicker.again thats the last posting i will do on the subject of WHO is the FASTEST.

sadly, most of the house i clean are tricky and few are bungalows.

there are some bungalows i do that have just 5 windows - they are quicker and give me a fiver each. however, other work is different.

Yes well I can do 100 houses an hour, without a ladder. I jump up to the top windows, and squeege them in a jiffy!!
And i charge £10 per window!
Damn I'm good.

Reflections Of Alston

« Reply #24 on: June 10, 2007, 11:43:29 PM »

i watched peters vidio and wondered if they weer clean.. no offence peter.. if they are then great, its just getting that much confidence in them without climbing the ladder and looking at the tops.  The wfp windows look clean before you get to them

I suppose you could just give them a once over and be off but you cant see finished results for an hour

worried from alston. who if could do 12 an hour would have a new house like the duke
