Greetings all you vision techs. Looking forward to exchanging thoughts and opinions with you all . The reason i'm here is that i will be venturing into the WFP game after 10 years on the ladders. Age and safety are my main reasons and if i pick up more business through it all the better. I will post my thoughts and hope to benefit from your pearls of wisdom that have been posted on this site..... PS......Is the Autobrush on the market yet???

Hi Karl, I only use Wagtail now and yes I dogear the ends but only in the special way. It does weaken the ends a lot and Iv'e had one or two break off, but because of the extra speed and greatly reduced detailing, it realy is worth it.
what dyou do when the ends break off though ??

I just make it into a smaller blade and do same again or repair it by riviting a bit of metal onto the end and bending that to the required angle. I'm trying to figure out a better way of doing it at the moment, but like I say, it's so good that I can't do without it anymore. I never had a stainless steel one break off yet though, only Wagtail. Even Wagtail are available with stainless blades now though.

Hi everyone. Just read this post from its beginings nearly 3 years ago and thought i,d make my 1st post reviving this thread. Thanks to wagga for some gr8 tips with his vids. I,m a ladder and squeegee man and av been for the last 19 years, hell, i cant even switch to microfibre from scrim. I also find a chamois unbeatable for sills and frames. 6 to 8 houses an hour for a typical three bed semi, and frankly find some of the prices ive read on here frightening. £3.50 to £4.00 is what i charge for a semi. Prices are very low here in Stoke. I guess its time to put my prices up lol.
thanx Ian.

looking at the prices on here is just all about the part of country your in im down south east sussex and prices high for everything so prices more all round really if earning less per house chances are that where you live cheaper ie morgage rent etc i couldnt do houses 3.50 to 4 pound down here as not enough hours a day and no where near as quick as the world record holder who started this post {just read first page as wasnt on hear when it started}shame im miles away would have been worth buying him a beer to see it lol

hi guys, I know this is an old topic but I just gotta say my bit concerning the speed trad cleaning.
I used to be on the dust carts and still do a bit when they need me. Just like our friend there I used to get the round done in much less time than all the others, I was the driver, used to be on the artics but got into dust carts as it was an early finish. Anyway it got to the point where I was getting the guys home so early they started to follow our route in a van to see how we did the route so fast.
My crew used to run a lot but as I was the driver I thought that It was not up to me to make them do all the running while I just sat on my ass and did just driving. One day I decided to get out every chance I got to help them, It ended up I was doing more bins than they were but was twice as hard as |I had to get in and out the truck in between each batch of bins. We got faster and faster every day and on a wednesday my own bin men used to come to empty my bins while I was at work but we used to finish so early that I got home before my own bins were emptied and I had already done my days work.
Sounds impossible aye? That's what they all thought until they followed us and saw for themselves.
All bins had been emptied, no litter was left lying around from being too fast and best of all we got paid the same as the guys that worked for the whole day. Some rounds are bigger than others but I could get the biggest round finished earlier than some of the smaller routes.
I aint no kid but I just work very fast and to a good standard.
Maybe we should give this guy the benefit of the doubt and give him a break even if he was a bit cocky about it.
Regards Squeeks.
