ps, you can use cable ties for the "SPRINGS" I used a rivet gun to secure these which are handles from a large yoghurt pot. You can think of other things to use.

Hi karl, I only use this tool on domestic work. I use a much larger standard Wagtail Flipper for shops/commercial. The "springs" keep the blade LEVEL at all times, yet it will still SWIVEL as normal.
It's much easier to use like this but the main reason I did this mod was because of the fixed detailing tool needs the blade/mop combination to stay level when it comes to the detailing bit, otherwise it tends to foul the roofline on some properties because they are so close to the top of the window.
It makes the whole job easier and much quicker. I can get up to real speeds now.

Thanks for the explanation.
Have you tried the small 8" flipper - I was amazed - you can really speed on frenchies.

Yes i have one but don't use it. sounds good. I have very few french windows now anyway.
Somone suggested weighting the flipper pad slightly so it flips better especially when it's very soapy.
I use more soap than I used to so I can avoid runs to a great extent. I'm working on this one.

Yeah, I did notice that the swivel is less on the 8".

I have added cable tie springs as you suggested chris its made a great difference with the accuracy and stability. I placed them a little closer in and cable tied the cables on just to make it usable on and off the pole.

Karl, you are quite right, the small flipper is great for what you say. I'm going to carry one around with me on my belt. Will have to get another holder from "NO FRILLS". They do a range to leather tool holders if they got any left. Somtimes I get a window up top where my modified flipper won't fit so it's about time I carried one anyway for my pole.

Thanks for that Karl, looks like a good idea, especially with the tab to keep the tool falling out.
