Been using GG4 for a while now but I find it doesn't have the same slip as Unger. I have been comparing the two and find I get on better with Unger for some reason. Has anyone else found this? I used to use washing-up liquid and found it realy hard to get used to GG4/Unger but after a while I went back to w/u liquid just to compare the difference. I just hated it, soap everywhere and loads more detailing and clogging of blades etc, constant wiping of blade too, don't seem to need to do this much with GG4 or Unger.

I use GG3 for all my inside cleans as I use a wfp for most outsides. I live in a soft water area but use pure water in my bucket which is also soft. GG4 is for hard water areas.
Your correct in saying that your blade does not glide as well as with fairy or ungers liquid. This is only because you are applying too much pressure to the blade, only due to the fact your technique has developed to remove very soapy water from the glass. If you stick to just GG4 nothing else for a week or so you wont change back guaranteed. Your technique will have changed by the end of the day. Its much better than ungers or fairy. The gleam on the glass after a couple of applications is fantastic.
I also find that if you use this on your wfp brush between very dirty windows, first cleans, conservatory roofs etc it really helps with ground on dirt and algae
and keeps your brush really clean too.
hope this helps
Kev.

Kev,
Realy appreciate your advice. Think I'm in a soft water area and so should perhaps use GG3 instead. But anyway I went back to washing-up liquid just for the comparison today, but your right, I just can't stand it anymore! Froth everywhere and my wagtail gear just didn't like it at all. Gets all clogged up with froth.
Your right about the finish too and when I detail, the scrim seems to polish instead of making a mark of it's own when using washing up liquid. I think this is because washing up liquid leaves a film on the window.
Cheers, Chris

If you "dog ear" your blade you dont have to do any detailing if your tech gets really good. I only wipe the sill nowadays (insides of course)

Hello. I tried gg4 and it was very good, but recently switched to gg3 and I love it. I live near the sea and get a lot of sea salt on the windows particularly after strong winds, but the gg3 shifts it no problem. You only need a very small amount in the bucket as it is more concentrated than gg4. A very light pressure on the squeege helps. Don´t push it against the glass, just let it glide.

hope it works for you. sounds a real bargain for a fiver. I only use GG3 in pure water, in conjunction with a bottle on a belt system. works realy well. anyway, all the best with it.

Hi Blade.
Yep, make my own pure water as Iv'e got the Freedom Trolley. I only use it for my leaded customers at the moment as I'm still trying to get used to it. Seems to work ok but because I use Wagtail on a pole and have got good at it I can't see me changing my round over as I know for a fact it's faster and less effort.
I use a 1ltr pull top bottle with pure water and GG3 in it. No more buckets. Just squeeze enough onto mop applicator and thats it. If it gets dirty wash aplicator under a tap and carry on.
I use pure water because I'm conviced it makes a difference instead of tap water. Less streaks. The cleaner the windows are the better this works. In winter or first cleans the contamination puts the tds up but I still think it helps.
Used to use Fairy for many years but now GG3 is amazing. You soon find out when you do the low sun test.

I find unger liquid a bit watery but has a nice smell.

I like squeegie off which i find gives perfect suds and slip.

car screenwash sounds very interesting. used this when freezing on glass during realy icy mornings.
must have alcohol in it or somthing.
Using GG3 now and realy rate it. Unger would leave direction change marks.

GG4 is suposed to be for hard water area's. I gave it a goodtrial and got poor results but then I'm in a soft water area. Trialed GG3 and got best results for over 20yrs.
I use it in BOTTLE ON A BELT SYSTEM using only pure water. Don't suppose it makes any difference realy using pure water. Still evaluating it.

I have always used fairy but i have recently bought some unger liquid to try out. Took some getting used to but getting the hang of it. I am hoping that it gives better results than fairy in the sun. Its been really dull and cloudy for the 3 days that i have used it. So i have been really impressed with the lack of blade lines and change of direction marks. At this early stage i dont think i will use fairy again and i might try some of the other alternatives.
