I've been asked to clean the inside windows of a small office. I know that the best way is to trad them but as a dyed in the wool WFP man, I've no idea how to go about this. I know how to trad clean - no worries there - but what sort of soap/ water mix do I use on the applicator to ensure that I don't get excess water dripping all over the place?

Thanks for any advice.

usual soap/water mix use a bottle on a belt to put water on applcator or a spray bottle direct to window and keep a microfibre on the sill to catch any run off if you have any.

craig i do loads of insides and just have an almost dry applicator well wrung out. i hold the applicator under where i squeegie until i get to bottom of window when the final stroke lands on applicator. quick wipe of the ledge job done

i will have done around 50+ windows by 8 am tomorrow morning insides. if its double sash i place a cloth along the gap between the two as any excess water from the top pane will run onto the outside of the bottom pane which is not good if you have already done the outsides Wink

as for soap whatever you are used to fairy/gg3 whatever you prefer same mix as outsides

when i do insides.. i leave the bucket  obviously at one point .. depending on the size of the job.. may  not work  for you but this method saves  time and is  in effect  more effective... when i visit the bucket  i  take  anything between  4 - 7  microfibre cloths.. wash and wring them out as much as poss.. put them in my pouch ( unger ergo ) and have a double  BOB  ( 2 buckets on the belt  joined  together)  you can either take a waaga  type  bottle  full with water and  LITTLE soap.. for when your applicator  dries  up... but in effect  for quality its best to use a  washed  out applicator  IMO.. because  your only  adding water to the applicator and not washing the dirt off.. which means your cloths and applicaor  will get even dirtier...another method  is  to use a two buckets.. one  full with warm water the other empty  to carry  2-3  applicators all washed out in oblong bucket  so that the water does not run down  to one side. the empty bucket can also be used  to  throw the dirty  cloths when you return  to the bucket  to wash them out..  sounds strange  but  keeps the windows  cleaner  because  your using clean cloths  for every window and  a fairly  clean applicator (s)  too.. this will save  your hands  also..  i dont recommend  putting detergent in the water  for the microfibre  cloths.. too much soap in these is a pain to work with and will also knacker  your hands (  cracks    etc ) just run some  diluted  detergent over the applicator.. when  washing the applicators first  the  soap  will run into the bucket anyway  then  you can wash the cloths... trrust me this will  make you move quicker  because istead of using one  cloth that will get dirty and wet fast your using  several (up to 7 ) plus it will save your back and time  because you wont have to keep visiting your bucket... use a  dry  microfibre  ( preferably a big one  70 x 90 cm or something like that ) for detailing or  some good scrim..  make sure  your using the best  squeegees  for the job.. and i  prefer the unger green micro fibre  for insides  it  goes longer and there  are less drips... what i mean  to say is  it seems  to stay  wet longer than the other brands  IMO.

i probably clean inside better than anyone else on this forum  ... because here in Germany  its all  expensive houses and  both inside and out...  next week ime gonna   buy the Sorbo quadropod... bucket stand  why. Huh?   its saves  my back  and  another major point what people have missed  .. IT lOOKS DAMN PROFESSIONAL... also when leaving your bucket in one place  put a   cover on the ground  to stop water  getting on the floor.. this will save you stress and also look professional to the customer.. but first and foremost will save you worrying about  wet foorprints and wet floors  when you leave which could.. be noticed  by the customer. hope this helps mate

I use large dedicated towels of a scrim quality (not beach towels or bath towels) as Kempy mentioned. But these are not really needed if you use a Wagtail flipper or whirlwind. They can hold so little water, you can use them just damp.
