Hi Guys,

I am sat here putting together a list of traditional kit in readiness to start cleaning windows again after a 7 year break. (I took a job but freedom is calling me!).

Scrim appears to have increased in price considerably,...............are microfibre cloths or any of the other types of cloth any good?

Appreciate your advice.

Lol,

Thanks Stu, I kinda guessed the answer but wondered if a new miracle cloth had been developed. Wink

Are you building your round from scratch or buying a round to develop, round my way Warwickshire, there are a few new start ups and
i can see a big squeeze on price at the moment.I have been going nearly 2 years and i have a fairly far flung round that i add bits too.
BUT I DO LIKE MY 3 DAY WEEK!!!
GOOD LUCK

Hi Charlie,

My father (He swears by scrim!) has been running window cleaning rounds for the last 20 years. He can push some work my way and I will get my own along side.

I checked with him, but it appears not to be over run down here in sunny Devon!

I am really looking forward to getting started again and hopefully in 6 months get WFP system.  Grin

Thanks Guys,

I have ordered scrim alongside the other basics. I went for PULEX squeegee and T bar/sleeves as it was much cheaper then the other makes and I wanted to get everything in one go.

The Window Clean Centre had a box full of kit on my doorstep next day,...............I was impressed!

Tomorrow I'm off canvassing. Grin

I recently got some micro Unger cloths came with a round Id brought to be honest I only use them as wet rags to wipe dirt off cill scrim will never be replaced some of mine are many years old have holes in too !  Grin exception for WFP  Wink as I love not using rags but have some jobs you can only do trad so average 50/50 on my work.

I am very happy with the scrim. I dont over use it to be honest, just a little detailing here and there, so it should last.

I know what you mean by breaking it in!....................I've been leaving some of mine soaking in the bucket as i've been squeegeeing.
