When using a pole it's difficult to blade accuratly as you can't get the blade to do the same acrobatics as you can with it in your hand.
This is where Iv'e tried to tie all the techniques together including clamping the detailing tool to the back of a Wagtial Flipper.
But what i have found is the "new type of dogearing" makes a big difference and reduces the need for detailing drastically.
For details of this go back on this site and look for NEW TYPE OF DOGEARING.
The only drawback when using this type of dog earing on a wagtail is that it can break off being alluuminium, but ive found it so effective that  I take the risk.

Why don't you cut the front down & add packing to the back of the rubber?

By the way: the 30" Wagtail is great  Wink

Instead of bending the metal down just pack the rubber so it points down - Unger clips do it for me.

got you now Karl, didn't know clips existed. having said that, the main reason for cutting into the blade is to raise it's profile UPWARDS as well as forwards. if you just bend an ordinary blade forwards, it just doesn't quite do it. thats why I called it a new type of dog earing. the blade is just too wide (width wise not length). it's the upward bend that realy does it.
will look into the clips though, thanks.
Chris.

They have slight pimples on them to grip to the rubber. Just be careful that you don't "bunch up" the rubber along the channel.
