This is my current POLE version of my modded Wagtail.
It shows the new way I attach the pad.
Note pad is on top. It works better once your used to it.
Only works on pole. Use unmodded wagtail for hand use.

The cable ties act like springs. They allow the wagtail to swivel as normal but it centralises the blade making it MUCH easier and more accurate to use instead of it flopping from side to side.
Yes it is a piece of metal for detailing. Normally only top edge. Works a treat on most windows.
Takes a while to learn to use it but worth the learning curve.
You WILL need an angle for the pole.
I'm working on a video and will post it on youtube as soon as I can.

wagga, why do you trim the corners off the pad?   also why put the pad on top?  is it easier to flip it back over ?  i understand itd make the closing out easier .

I trim the ends off pad to stop the velcro bits pushing the blade away from edge of window frame. It's strong enough to do that.
The wagtail that flips over the back is the one featured in the video clips. DONT USE THIS MOD FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE POLE. It wont work by hand. use a seperate standard tool for this.
The modified one you see in the video, flips back over. You can see what your doing better and it never interferes with closing out.

Chris ( Wagga) good videios by the way.Excellent in fact.
Just a question, how deep can ya go with window sills and
Ledges before the wagtail rubber fouls up and ya can`t squeegee
Because of the depth of the sill? Thanks.

Chris(Wagga) your `Flipper`has the `pad`on the top of the squeegee blade,
But on the window cleaning resources video demonstration, the pad is fixed
Underneath so you are `flipping`the other way I guess,is that right? Can you
Explain your way thanks.I can only assume you find it more easier or something?

Hi Duncan, I have a video out on this subject. Just go to video links on this forum and click on my link. Also if you go back a bit on this section look under "New Type of Dog-earing"

The pad is on top of the blade because it's easier to flip and won't interfere with closing out. You can also see what your'e doing more easily. Only use the modified version you see in the pics above for the long pole.
I got a vid out on this. Go to vid links.

I only use the modified version of the Wagtail Flipper on my long domestic pole.
I use the standard Wagtail Flipper for everything else, even on the small painters pole I use for shops.
The shops are easy for closing out on because you can usually do it by hand having taken the tool off the pole to finish off. On the long pole you can't and it has to be specialised (mainly to save time)
I will be releasing a video of this soon, in three parts under the heading of More advanced techniques.
I will be showing how the tool featured above is used and made up and why. Grin Grin Grin

YOUR  vids wagga are good .ive been using my 18flipper on a pole (but with the LIDL balcony floor scrubber pad ). this material is so tough that even after a good month of SOLID  use it looked like the day it was new . the other day i decided to weaken it so it flipped a tad better . i wanted to weaken it at the point where the cloth folds over the rubber blade tip

with the furry side up, i cut along using a scraper blade, directly into the "fur" . guess what, its so tough i couldnt weaken it  . so i chucked it back into my bucket ready for next day

ive got the pad held on using thin cable ties, just as in your foto above (4 holes drilled in the aluminium ,then 4 pierced holes thru the pad material, dont fret about the material fraying,it never does . The cable ties are kept loose and not pulled up tight ,this aids flipping

I tried a mop pad from the pound shop this week, cut out the nylon backing and trimmed to size works ok with 12" flipper.Theres more drag on the window but flips better and holds more water good if you want a spare.

It's just another way of holding on the pad. Flips more easily. Acts like a hinge. It's just a length of wire. Ties hold it on quite well but can come out. Only use this on pole for domestic. For shops use standard Wagtail.
With new Blue Ribband wagtail it has velcro. will do a vid on that.
