I use both when cleaning trad. I use many more scrims than micro fibre. I tend to mop most of the water up with the scrim and then polish if needed with the micro fibre.
In my opinion scrims certainly do still have their place....even if its only to wipe your hose when reeling back in!

Iv'e gone back to my scrims since my microfibres were too small. I know you can get bigger ones but I use them as cill cloths now. I hardly have to deatail at all now since I dogear in the new way.

Yea,when your hands are dry, microfibre is horrible to hold.
I use mainly scrim at the moment, with a microfibre or chamois for sills/frames

I just use scrims did try a few small micro fibre clothes onces but I would get on with them, and agree they dont feel nice to hold they stick to your hands. altough I might give them another go one day.
