Hi Everyone,

I've been starting to do more residential work and am running into the problem of hard water buildup on windows.  Haven't had to deal with this with my commercial work.  I've heard about the pastes and muratic acid - which really sounds like a mess.  A customer of mine told me they had a window cleaner that just added something to his water - scrubbed the window with the hard water - and squeegeed it right off.  Anyone know of chemicals like this or have a good idea on what I could use to make life easier with hard water?  Thanks a TON in advance.   Grin

I have a major problem/opportunity here in Jo'burg. So many windows have a build up from sprinkler systems, often using borehole water (so full of all sorts of deposits). I have been recommended to try acetic acid, applied on kitchen towel and left on the window.
Any ideas from up there?? Cool

Hi,
Been thinking about this one a bit, and remembered that there was a special chemical available.
First site I looked on was Soapnational. Realy good supplier. What you might need is called WINSOL CRYSTAL CLEAR 550 WATER SPOT REMOVER.
Look under chemicals and detergents. Hope it works.
Regards,
Chris.

Winsol 550 does work - don't use it on tempered glass unless you know what you are doing. Sometimes I might just scrub raw vinegar into the window & come back later & scrape it off. Ettore do water spot remover that works & MDR that I've used in conjunction with 0000 grade steel wool (painters stores).
I also have the Sörbo hard stain remover - which I'm yet to bother using  Embarrassed  As I said, the scraper does it most of the time for me. Charge well for your services.

Darrel sells most the stuff that is specialised. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
