Yes I dogear all my channels no matter what they are. I am currently using a stainless channel (dogeared) in my Wagtail Blue Ribbon. Works a treat. I got loads on my vids if you trawl through them.

Hi, the reason why I dont't just bend the ends over like I used to, is that it doesn't work as well. I have done all my channels including aluminum.
It can make them a bit weak and I have had the odd one or two break off, but it's been worth it as I  dont have to detail hardly at all.
If it breaks off, I just make a slightly smaller blade out of it. I don't try to save money as such, but try to make more by being efficient.

It might just shrink so be patient, if not just cut it down a bit. The dogearing, if done correctly, will save you a lot of time

A couple of questions on the new dog earring method.

How does it perform on windows where there is no pertruding rubber seal, when the rubber gasket sits flush with or even slightly below the frame? Tends to be on the bigger houses or newer profiles, alot of the brown upvc seems to be like this. I reckon my rounds about 50 50 at the moment.

Also any one experienced problems using a bucket on a belt to store your dog eared squeeges. I use a screwfix blue unger classic, the old design they re released  (probably coz the new one is pretty pants compared) and I love the thing!

It should work on just about anything if done correctly.

The bucket on a belt should only be used as a drip catcher. Doesn't bother me what one I use much.
