Hi members, have a problem with some sticky residue on some
Internal glass windows.
Don`t know wether it`s from window film tint that’s been scraped
Off or whatever,but I`ve tried meths,white spirit,WD40,soap water
And a scraper ,nothing will shift it.
I think it needs something to dissolve or soften what ever it is.
Any ideas,thanks for replies.

I would have expected a scraper to shift it if it is sticky.
Maybe try oilflo or a heat gun?

Also, I removed the tint film from a vehicle a few years ago and used a citris smelling solvent that a signwriter gave me.
It dissolved the residue so it could be easily scraped. Don't know what it was called.
I read somewhere that ammonia is  very good for removing tint film.

What I use is a product called DE-SOLV-IT.
I mix it with water as I found using it at full strength it didn’t seem work as well.
Spray it on the tape residue let work for about 30 seconds then use micro fibre cloth to clean off.
But tape residue that has only been on for short time.
Should come off using a micro fibre cloth wet with DE-SOLV-IT mixed with water on it.

I use white spirit very good for removing sticky stuff and its pretty cheap and goes along way, once got my hands caked in mastic and white spirit got it off in no time.
