If you can earn from £20 / £30  a hour then its not too bad .
I guess if you charge say £20 or £30 a house then you be finished within 30 mins so very good money .

my starting price for gutters is £40 and I wont do anything lower than that using the Omni-vac,   did a couple of blocks of private flats the other day and chrged £240 even though it took less than 3 hours as it wasn't my fault most of the gutters were empty.

People think its easy money but newbie’s don't realise the hassle involved sometimes and repetitive strain on your upper body.
Probably that’s the reason why you see so many nearly new guttervac kits for sale as its hassle & can be bloody hard work.

Anyone will know after doing a few using a guttervac whatever make/power it maybe they all have limits on what they can do. Also it's not just the case of clearing out guttering as you need to check all downspouts are free flowing and not blocked up too.

To do the job properly especially if downspouts/elbow joints are blocked takes a lot more time/different unblocking methods so you need to charge accordingly.

There is some serious money to be made doing gutters but as its only a once a year job you need to think of it as an extra. The real money is in the taller properties or awkward ones where they would otherwise have to use scaffolding or cherry pickers. These are the ones where you have to really push the safety aspect of a vacuum system rather than using ladders. Also push the fact that you have invested in a proper system and so you are a reputable, insured company and not a benefit cheat. These are the ones who want the job done professionally so you can charge higher prices. I have a nursing home and a sheltered houseing block. I charge £250 per clean out provided they have them done yearly they know the price is held for 3 yrs. As they are done yearly there is no compacted mess after the first clean so I can easily do both in a day. I also have 2 schools that have listed 3 storey buildings on each site. due to the layout they can not use cherry pickers so its either scaffolding + carpark closed for a week and cost nearly £5k inc vat or me go round with the gutter vacuum on a Saturday and charge £2.5k with no vat. Everyone wins except the big boys. BUT... you need to build up to being able to work the higher gutters properly and many are not prepared to do that.

And remember that if its a gutter that can not be done safely / legally from a ladder then charge more as you have the equipment to get the job done.

Also chat to other window cleaners and offer them say 10% "finders fee" for every gutter job they put your way and if you do then dont go talking windows to the customer as you could loose out in the long run.

Regards
Mr H

No doubt some jobs need ladders Iv done a few accessed with ladder but still use vac up there got 50ft of hose on mine so not too bad but as others said it's hard work & obscure at times but charged accordingly can be ok.
