Theres that many hand car washes popping up every were now i dont think there would be much money to be made doing it mobile.
Round here there charging about £4 a pop for a small car and about £8 inside and out going up to about £15 for a larger vehicle, they do a pretty good job too, but they do seem to be all foreign,
but if you could get into car valeting there would be good money to be made as even the local hand car washes charge £50 + for a full valet, could easily fit the stuff to do it in a small van but you need a good carpet/upholstery cleaner (Rugdoctors seem to be good) and there not cheap to buy. but you could hire one from morrisons for the day for £20  Roll Eyes

I'm just starting up and thought of offering car cleaning on people's drives along with the window cleaning? How would a pressure sprayer filled with diluted fleet wash to spray the car / agitate with brush on pole / rinse off with pure water?  Do you think it would work?

hi matty

i had a good think about it it would work but i feel customers might perfure the same person doing their car washing a majority of the time ie once a week then it a case of them having their car there and then your wasting water ( a car will take more water and time to clean it than a house ) it might be an idea with a two man team i dont know

it was a good though of mine but if anyone on here can add some idea's it might work

in my oppinion never say never

I have often thought that it could work as a business in its own right if you became a truely mobile car wash and have a set round (a bit like the windows) you do it at peoples workplaces they pay by standing order you wash the car weekly. if you get half a dozen cars in one location ie an office block then great pull into car park clean cars leave ticket under wiper then off to the next works car park.

yes it works in my area there is a car valeter he always rinses the car then sprays the car with tfr.    or truck wash then blasts the car with a car wash attachement  its basicaly licke a conny roof  he uses about 25ltres barrel per car because its fan jets   he said dont use the brush on sign written vans       he does clean windows with pure water and a slx 30 foot he has not hd any issues

If you could get a contract with a car dealer to wash the cars every month or so Id say it could work but Id scrap wfp to clean them and just use a pressure washer with a 1000ltr IBC tank, but Id hate to scratch a nice car or be accused of it.

i would look at insurance for it the RAC have you sign a form after they sstrap you car down to say they havent damaged it in any shape or form after they had a few clames against them a few years back from people trying it on

people are funny in this country when it comes to their cars

I ran a mobile valeting company with a friend around 6yr ago, theres money to be made on the high end side of it ie machine polish and complete interior clean if you can get in with the dealers, your talking £30-£40 a car but it takes around 1-2hr, the pop up car washes that have been mentioned that do do a fantastic job for £4-£5 a car mean if if you did it mobile the cost of travel on top of the cost of chemicals and insurance make it not worth while, i use our local 1 for my audi a3, it takes them 30-40 minutes, they do a cracking job and charge just £5 and that includes an hoover out and a free wash every 5 visits on a loyalty card scheme they do. they make there money working mon-sun 8am till 6-7pm at nite and getting a high turn over of cars through, theres always a massive que which you just couldnt acheive on a mobile basis, imo leave them to it!!!  Grin
