arite fifer, u had any problems changing over to water fed, I changed over to waterfed this year, the work im gettin through now is amazing. Needing more work maseal, lol.
waterfed has a bad name in fife, caused by one company, there staff turn around is laughable, nae training and nae clue. Sometimes wonder if they even bother with tds readings, i have seen them about glenrothes, they dinnae dae frames, rinse windows, clean sills, just a joke.
I've picked up a few of their customers, but they hate waterfed until they see the results when it's done properly.I've been windae cleaning since 1990 and the best thing that has happend is water fed, dinnae know why i was so slow on the uptake lol.

hi aqua, my apologies for gettin of track, i just saw locals and wanted a bit feedback, sorry.
I found myself a bit short on work once i changed over to waterfed, so in june i decided to start puttin cards out, since june i've picked up over 500 new customers, i just go out 2 hrs a day mon, tue, wed, i don't do thurs or fri as i collect in the eve. I stick to my area mostly, sometimes i do try new areas as sometimes you might get a phone call from a custie tellin u that theres no windae cleaner in the area.  I don't try and under cut anyone as i dont want that work, but u find for every 10 customers in a street gettin their windaes cleaned theres another 10 with nae windae cleaner. Try to keep ure card simply, but put things like ure licsensed, insured etc, include a e-mail address, mobile no, house phone no, as this gives customers confidence that ure a professional.  /i do my cards double sided on the back i include things like rowans, conservatorie roofs, insides etc.
Also check out e bay there is a few guys that a build u web sites for £40, 5 pages, domain name, google searches, etc, looks great on ure motor or cards.
Hope some of this was a help. sorry again.

hi again aqua, i noticed that sales guru mentioned a possible job, i know u stated that it's outside ure license area, however i used to work for a company called t.moffat and sons in the 90's and they did work for edinburgh city council, well we only had fife licenses. T. Moffat was very good when it came to the law and would have got us licenses if they where required, and edinburgh city council would have required them from potenial contracters bidding for this work if it was required. I,m not sure but i think licenses are required for domestic work, not contract work. May be worth checking.

Hi Fife windows nae probs here just keeps things tidy n all that , pm me if ya wanna chat its over on the left next to my website  Grin

no contract or tender would be given if you dont have each licence for each area , h&s issues, insurance issues, 20 years ago things were very diff tho, not so much a licence more a registration if any.

even tho you are insured to cover europe , its null and void if you arn't licenced to work in that area

sometimes contractors dont mind if you dont have a licence but only sometimes, what ive found  best steer clear of them cos if something were to happen to you or one of there staff or the property its gonna cost you big time.. Huh? and if they dont mind they dont mind not paying you when some one else quotes cheaper and you got no contract:'(

and  some other poor sod that has payed for there licence in the area and an unlicenced person is nipping there work Angry

to apply for tender now you need to put your areas and licence numbers before they even look at the application

cheers tho  Smiley
